The confirmed date
Grand Theft Auto VI releases on November 19, 2026. The date is confirmed by Rockstar Games, and Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has publicly reaffirmed it, stating there is no further delay planned. The game was previously delayed from earlier windows, so this is the date that currently stands.
Pre-load starts a week early
Pre-loading opens at local midnight on November 12, 2026 — seven days before launch. This applies to digital pre-orders and to boxed copies whose codes have been redeemed. If you want to play at launch rather than wait on a download, this is the date that matters.
Platforms at launch
The game launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with PS5 Pro enhancements. There is no PC version announced. See our PC version page for what Rockstar has and has not said.
