GTA 6 Frame Rate: 30fps on Console at Launch
The short answer
30 frames per second on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at launch. A 60fps performance mode has not been announced.
What Rockstar said
The Netflix Extended Look on August 27, 2026 showed PS5 footage running at 30fps. Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson then told Portuguese outlet Flow Games that the game runs at 30fps and that further options may be added in the future, as reported by GamesRadar+ on August 28.
Not a promise either way
“May be added in the future” is not an announcement of a performance mode, and it is not a denial. Headlines claiming 60fps is coming, or that it is ruled out, go further than Rockstar did. Rockstar has also not said what, if anything, the PS5 Pro changes about frame rate.
What is still unknown
Whether a performance mode arrives in a post-launch update, what the PS5 Pro version runs at, and the resolution targets on each console. For PC, there is no announced version at all, so no PC frame-rate information exists.
